On this page
A 10kW solar system in Bharuch costs about ₹5,50,000 fully installed in 2026. A home pays about ₹4,72,000 after the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy, and a business pays the full amount. It makes around 1,400 units a month and covers a bill of about ₹11,000. In our calculator it pays back in about 3.4 years for a home and 3.9 years for a business. This size is mostly for shops, clinics, schools, small workshops and large bungalows.
What a 10kW system includes
| Item | What you get |
|---|---|
| Panels | Twenty 550 W ALMM-listed panels, 11 kWp in total |
| Inverter | 10 kW on-grid inverter, usually three-phase |
| Structure | Galvanised steel on RCC slabs, or rail and clamp mounting on metal sheet roofs |
| Wiring and safety | DC and AC cables, protection box and earthing |
| Paperwork | DGVCL approval and net meter, plus PM Surya Ghar for homes, filed by us |
| Service | 5 years of free maintenance |
Homes claiming the subsidy must use ALMM-listed panels made with domestic cells. Businesses are not bound by the subsidy rule, but we still recommend ALMM-listed panels for the warranty support.
Price, subsidy and what you pay
| Home | Shop, office or unit | |
|---|---|---|
| Installed price | ₹5,50,000 | ₹5,50,000 |
| PM Surya Ghar subsidy | ₹78,000 | none |
| You pay | ₹4,72,000 | ₹5,50,000 |
| Saving in year one | about ₹11,068 a month | about ₹11,068 a month |
| Payback in our calculator | about 3.4 years | about 3.9 years |
| Saving over 25 years | about ₹59.9 lakh | about ₹59.9 lakh |
The calculator values each unit at ₹8 with a 5% yearly rise in tariff. Commercial tariffs in Gujarat are often higher than ₹8 once fixed and demand charges are counted, and a business can usually claim accelerated depreciation on solar. Both shorten the payback for a business. Ask your CA for the depreciation rate before you plan around it.
Who a 10kW system suits
A shop, showroom or clinic that is open through the day is the best fit, because the panels produce exactly while the load is running. A bill around ₹10,000 to ₹12,000 a month points to this size. Schools and small workshops with daytime use fit well too.
For homes, 10 kW makes sense only on a large bungalow with a bill of ₹10,000 or more, usually from several ACs running much of the year. Below that, a 5kW system or a 3kW system saves more per rupee.
Factories in Ankleshwar, Panoli and Dahej GIDC usually need far more than 10 kW and have their own questions around HT connections and shed roofs. The post on factory solar in GIDC covers those. For units that also run a diesel generator, see solar vs diesel generator.
Roof and connection
Plan for about 1,100 to 1,200 square feet of shade-free roof. On RCC slabs we use a galvanised structure, raised if you use the terrace. On shop and shed roofs of metal sheet, rails are fixed to the sheet profile or the purlins underneath, with sealed fixings so the roof stays watertight.
Loads of this size are normally on a three-phase DGVCL connection, and your sanctioned load should be at least 10 kW. If either needs changing, the application goes in with the solar file.
Loan and EMI
A 10 kW system goes on a regular solar, business or home improvement loan. Rates vary by bank and by your profile.
| Loan amount | 5 years at 7% | 5 years at 10% | 7 years at 7% |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₹4,72,000, home net after subsidy | about ₹9,346 | about ₹10,029 | about ₹7,123 |
| ₹5,50,000, business | about ₹10,891 | about ₹11,686 | about ₹8,301 |
Over 7 years at 7%, the EMI stays under the ₹11,068 a month the system saves in both cases.

Questions people ask
What is the price of a 10kW solar system in Bharuch?
About ₹5,50,000 fully installed for an 11 kWp array of twenty 550 W panels on a 10 kW inverter. A home gets the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy and pays about ₹4,72,000. A shop, office or small factory pays the full ₹5,50,000. We confirm the final figure after a free site visit.
How many units does a 10kW solar system make?
About 1,400 units a month averaged over the year in Bharuch, or roughly 16,800 units a year. That covers a monthly bill of about ₹11,000 at ₹8 a unit.
How much roof space does a 10kW solar system need?
About 1,100 to 1,200 square feet of shade-free roof. On a factory or shop shed the panels sit close to the metal sheet on rails, which usually uses the space more efficiently than a raised structure on a slab.
Does a 10kW system need a three-phase connection?
Usually, yes. Loads of this size are normally on a three-phase DGVCL connection. If your premises are on single phase or your sanctioned load is under 10 kW, the change goes in with the solar application. We check your bill and file both together.
Is a 10kW solar system worth it for a home?
Only if your bill is around ₹10,000 a month or more, which usually means a large bungalow with several ACs running for much of the year. The subsidy stays at ₹78,000, so payback is a little longer than for a 3 kW home, about 3.4 years in our calculator. If your bill is lower, a smaller system saves more per rupee spent.
