The central government pays a large part of a home system, straight into your bank account. As a registered vendor we file the application, the DGVCL approvals and the claim. You keep four documents ready.
How much you get
It depends on the size of the system, not on your bill or income. Homes only.

Shops, offices and factories get no central subsidy. Businesses can usually claim accelerated depreciation instead. Ask your CA for the current rate.
The scheme runs until 31 March 2027.
The claim needs a commissioned system, so start early. DGVCL approvals and the inspection take most of the time.

Four documents
- 1Latest DGVCL electricity bill, with the consumer number
- 2Aadhaar card of the person named on the bill
- 3Bank passbook front page or a cancelled cheque, in the same name
- 4Proof of ownership, such as a property tax bill or index copy
Plus a mobile number and email you check. The one thing that saves the most time is a name spelt the same way on the bill, the Aadhaar card and the bank account.

Seven steps. We file every one.
- 01 WE FILE Register on the portal On pmsuryaghar.gov.in, with state Gujarat, discom DGVCL and your consumer number.
- 02 WE FILE Apply for rooftop solar The application goes in with the size we worked out at the site visit.
- 03 DGVCL DGVCL feasibility DGVCL checks that your sanctioned load can take the system. We check it first, so there are no surprises.
- 04 OUR TEAM Installation Our own team, usually in one day for a home, with ALMM-listed DCR panels.
- 05 WE FILE Plant details and net meter Panel serial numbers, inverter details and photos go up, and the net meter is applied for.
- 06 DGVCL Inspection and commissioning DGVCL inspects and fits the bi-directional meter. The commissioning certificate is issued.
- 07 WE FILE Bank details, then the subsidy Your account details go up and the subsidy is credited to you. The portal states about 30 days.

Why applications get stuck
- Name mismatchThe bill, the Aadhaar and the bank account spell the name differently, or the bill is still in a grandparent's name. Apply to DGVCL for a name change first.
- Sanctioned load too lowOlder homes often have 2 kW or less on the bill. DGVCL may ask for a load increase before it approves a 3 kW system.
- Non-DCR panelsPanels that are not ALMM-listed with domestic cells get the claim rejected at the end. We name the panel model in the quote.

Questions people ask
How long does the subsidy take to reach my account?
The portal says about 30 days after bank details are submitted. In practice it can take a little longer. Farhan Qureshi in Sherkhi, Bharuch, received ₹78,000 six weeks after commissioning.
Can I take a loan for the rest?
Yes. Public sector banks offer collateral-free solar loans under PM Surya Ghar for systems up to 3 kW, typically at around 7%. Check the current rate with your bank. We fill in the documents the bank asks for.
The bill is in my father's name. Can I still apply?
The subsidy goes to the person named on the connection, and the bank account must match. Apply in that person's name, or get the name changed with DGVCL first.
Do I pay anything before approval?
No. There is no advance. You pay after DGVCL approves the system.
Is there a Gujarat state subsidy on top?
Plan around the central ₹78,000. We confirm any state benefit at the time of filing and do not quote one in advance.
