DGVCL Solar Application Status, How to Check PM Surya Ghar 2026
Check your DGVCL solar application status on the PM Surya Ghar portal. What each stage means, why net meter installation gets delayed and when to visit DGVCL.
On this page
You can check your DGVCL solar application status by logging in at pmsuryaghar.gov.in with your consumer number and registered mobile. The application page shows each stage, from registration through feasibility, installation, net metering, inspection and commissioning to the subsidy. Most delays sit at feasibility, the net meter and inspection, and most of them come from a name mismatch, a low sanctioned load or meter availability at the subdivision.
How to check your status on the portal
The national portal at pmsuryaghar.gov.in is where every home application in Gujarat is tracked. The layout and button names change from time to time, so look for the consumer login and your application details rather than a fixed label.
- Open pmsuryaghar.gov.in and choose the login option for consumers.
- Enter your DGVCL consumer number, printed on your electricity bill, and the mobile number you registered with.
- Confirm with the OTP sent to that mobile.
- Open your rooftop solar application from your dashboard. The stages are shown in order, with the completed ones marked.
- Note your application number and take a screenshot of the status.
If part of Surat city is supplied to you by Torrent Power rather than DGVCL, your application goes to Torrent. Check the company name printed on your bill before you register.
Gujarat also runs applications through the state’s SURYA Gujarat portal, managed by GUVNL and GEDA. Your vendor handles that side. The status on the national portal can lag a little behind what has happened on the ground, so a stage completed yesterday may not show until later.
What each stage means
| Stage | What is happening | Who acts | Usual reason for waiting |
|---|---|---|---|
| Registration | Account created with your consumer number and mobile | You or your vendor | Wrong consumer number, mobile not verified |
| Application and feasibility | DGVCL checks your connection can take the planned system | DGVCL subdivision | Sanctioned load, name mismatch, connection category |
| Installation details | Vendor uploads panel serial numbers, inverter details and photos | Vendor | Details not uploaded, panel not on the approved list |
| Net metering | Net meter application filed, meter to be fitted | DGVCL | Meter stock, pending earlier stages |
| Inspection | DGVCL visits the site to check the installation | DGVCL | Scheduling, observations to fix |
| Commissioning | Commissioning certificate generated on the portal | DGVCL | Inspection report not yet updated |
| Subsidy | Bank details submitted, subsidy released | You or vendor, then the scheme | Bank name not matching the connection |
Time at each stage varies by subdivision and by season. A clean application moves faster than one that needs corrections, so we do not quote fixed days for any DGVCL stage. The one published figure is for the last stage, where the portal says the subsidy is released within about 30 days of bank details.
Registration and feasibility
Registration only confirms who you are and which connection you mean. Feasibility is the first real check. DGVCL looks at your sanctioned load, the name on the connection and whether it is a residential connection. If something does not fit, the application either waits or comes back with a query.
Installation details and net metering
Once feasibility is approved, the system is installed by a registered vendor, usually in one day for a home. The vendor then uploads the plant details and files for the net meter. If your status sits here for long after installation, ask your vendor whether the details have been uploaded. How the net meter changes your bill is in DGVCL net metering in Gujarat.
Inspection and commissioning
DGVCL inspects the system, fits the bi-directional net meter and the commissioning certificate is generated. An inspector may note something to correct, such as earthing, labelling or cable routing. The vendor fixes it and the inspection is completed. Until the net meter is in, your bill cannot show export, which is one of the reasons we list in why a solar bill stays high.
Subsidy
After commissioning you submit bank details and a cancelled cheque. The amount is ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the third, up to ₹78,000. Farhan Qureshi in Sherkhi, Bharuch, received the ₹78,000 six weeks after commissioning. Plan around the central amount. Our Gujarat subsidy guide explains how we handle any state benefit.
Common causes of delay
The documents and eligibility rules are covered in our PM Surya Ghar subsidy guide for Bharuch. This section is about how problems show up once the application is moving.
Name mismatch
The bill, the Aadhaar card and the bank account need to carry the same name. When the bill is still in a late parent’s or previous owner’s name, the application often stalls at feasibility or at the subsidy stage. The fix is a name change at your DGVCL subdivision, and it is better done before you file.
Sanctioned load
If the planned system is large for the sanctioned load on your bill, DGVCL may hold feasibility until the load is raised. Load enhancement is a separate application with its own fee. The alternative is a smaller system that fits the current load.
Pending inspection
Inspections are scheduled by the subdivision alongside its other work. After the monsoon, and when many homes in one area apply together, the queue gets longer. If an inspection note asks for a correction, the vendor has to fix it before the next step.
Bank details
A bank account in a different name, a closed account or a wrong IFSC code holds the subsidy after everything else is complete. Check the passbook against the bill before uploading.
Meter stock
Net meters are issued by DGVCL. When a subdivision is short of meters, the net meter stage waits even though the installation and paperwork are ready. This is outside your control and your vendor’s, though a polite follow-up at the subdivision helps.
What you can do yourself
These steps keep an application moving.
- Check the portal once a week and keep a screenshot each time.
- Keep the registered mobile number active and answer calls and SMS from DGVCL.
- Ask your vendor, in writing on WhatsApp, which stage the application is at and what is pending.
- Keep your bill, Aadhaar, ownership proof and bank passbook ready in one folder.
- Make sure someone can let the DGVCL team onto the roof on the inspection day.
When to visit the DGVCL subdivision office
Your subdivision is the DGVCL office that handles your connection, and its name is usually printed on your bill. Office details are listed on dgvcl.com.
A visit makes sense in four cases. The first is when you need a name change or load enhancement, since both are handled there. The second is when feasibility has sat for a long time with no query and your vendor cannot get an answer. The third is when the net meter or inspection has not been scheduled well after the application went in. The fourth is when the net meter is fitted but your bill still does not show separate import and export readings.
Take your latest bill, Aadhaar card, application number, portal screenshots and your vendor’s contact details. Ask for the specific reason the application is waiting and what document or step will clear it.
How we track it for our customers
For every home system we install, we file the PM Surya Ghar application and the DGVCL net metering paperwork ourselves. We check the status of each application, coordinate the inspection and send you a WhatsApp message when a stage moves. If something needs a visit to the subdivision, we tell you exactly what to carry, or go ourselves where the office allows it.
There is no advance payment. You pay after approval. We check the name on the bill and the sanctioned load at the free site visit, before anything is filed, because that is where most delays start. The same process applies wherever we install across South Gujarat.

Questions people ask
How do I check my PM Surya Ghar application status?
Go to pmsuryaghar.gov.in and use the consumer login. Enter your DGVCL consumer number and the mobile number you registered with, then confirm with the OTP sent to that mobile. Your application page shows the stages, with the completed ones marked. Take a screenshot each time you check, so you have a record of when each stage moved.
Why is my net meter installation delayed by DGVCL?
The common reasons are meter availability at the subdivision, a pending inspection, plant details not yet uploaded by the vendor, or an observation from the inspection that needs fixing. Sometimes the net meter application waits on an earlier issue such as a name mismatch or low sanctioned load. Your vendor should be able to tell you which one applies and what is needed to clear it.
How long does DGVCL take to approve a solar application?
It varies by subdivision, by season and by how complete the application is. A clean application with matching names and enough sanctioned load moves much faster than one that needs a correction. The installation itself usually takes one day for a home. Most of the total wait sits in feasibility, inspection and the net meter, which depend on DGVCL's workload.
What should I do if my solar application is rejected at feasibility?
Read the reason shown on the portal or in the message you received. The usual causes are a name that does not match the connection, a sanctioned load too low for the planned system, or a connection in the wrong category. Fix the cause at your DGVCL subdivision, such as a name change or load enhancement, then apply again. Your vendor can advise on resizing the system instead.
Can I check the status without my registered mobile number?
The consumer login sends an OTP to the mobile number used at registration, so you need access to it. If you no longer have that number, ask your vendor first. Registered vendors can see the applications linked to them on their side of the portal. Updating the mobile number on an application can take time, so keep the registered number active until the subsidy is credited.
When is the subsidy credited after commissioning?
After the commissioning certificate is generated, you submit bank details and a cancelled cheque on the portal. The portal says the subsidy is released within about 30 days after that. One of our customers in Sherkhi, Bharuch received ₹78,000 six weeks after commissioning. Delays at this stage almost always come from bank details that do not match the name on the connection.
