UTL Solar in Bharuch 2026, Which UTL System Fits Your Home
UTL solar in Bharuch. On-grid, hybrid, PCU and off-grid UTL systems compared, which one suits a city or village home, and how to buy UTL safely.
On this page
UTL makes on-grid inverters, hybrid inverters, solar PCUs, panels and batteries, and the right one for a Bharuch home depends mostly on how often your power goes. This guide explains what each UTL product type does, which suits a city home, a village home or a shop, and how to make sure what you buy is genuine. We stock UTL alongside Waaree and Adani at our shop at Mehfuz Complex, opp. Patel Welfare Hospital, and every quote comes with the datasheet and warranty card for the exact model.
What UTL makes, in general terms
We describe product types here, not models. For the exact model, its specifications and its warranty, see the datasheet and warranty card we send with each quote.
| Product type | What it does | Grid connection | Backup in a cut | Fits PM Surya Ghar |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| On-grid inverter | Converts panel power for the house and exports surplus | Yes, with net meter | No | Yes, with ALMM DCR panels |
| Hybrid inverter | On-grid functions plus a battery for backup | Yes, with net meter | Yes, selected loads | Yes, battery not covered |
| Solar PCU | Charges batteries from panels, grid as backup | Usually no net meter | Yes | Usually no |
| Off-grid system | Panels, battery and inverter with no grid | No | Yes, whole load the battery allows | No |
| Solar panels | Produce DC power from sunlight | Depends on inverter | Not on their own | Only ALMM-listed DCR models |
| Batteries | Store energy for inverters and PCUs | Not applicable | Yes | Battery not covered |
Our wider post on on-grid vs hybrid vs off-grid solar in Gujarat explains the three system types in more depth. The short version follows.
Which UTL product suits which home
City home with steady supply
Most homes in Zadeshwar, Kasak, Link Road and around Shravan Chowkdi see short and infrequent cuts. An on-grid inverter with ALMM-listed domestic panels is the right choice. It costs the least and qualifies for the PM Surya Ghar subsidy of up to ₹78,000. In our calculator model, a 3.3 kWp system with six 550 W panels and a 3 kW inverter costs about ₹1,65,000 before subsidy and about ₹87,000 after it. Most of these families keep their existing home inverter for fans and lights during cuts.
Village home with regular cuts
In villages like Manubar, Hinglot, Dayadara and Vorasanni, feeders that also carry farm load trip more often, and monsoon storms bring lines down for hours. Here a hybrid inverter with a battery bank makes more sense. It gives backup and still keeps net metering and the subsidy on the solar side. The battery cost sits on you. Our post on solar in Bharuch villages covers village roofs and feeders in more detail.
Home that only wants cheaper backup
Some families mainly want their inverter battery to charge from the sun instead of the grid. A solar PCU does that job. It usually runs without a net meter, so it does not qualify for PM Surya Ghar, and it will not export surplus to the grid. It suits smaller backup loads well. If you are sizing the battery side, our guide to inverter batteries for Bharuch homes has a worked backup-hours table.
Farmhouse or site with no connection
Where there is no DGVCL connection, an off-grid system is the only option. It needs a larger battery bank because every night-time unit comes from storage. There is no subsidy under PM Surya Ghar for off-grid homes.
Shops and offices
Shops can use on-grid or hybrid UTL systems, but they get no central subsidy whichever they choose. Where billing counters and CCTV must stay on, a hybrid with a modest battery is common. See our commercial solar page.
Buying UTL safely
These checks apply to any shop, including ours. They take ten minutes and save a lot of trouble.
- Insist on a GST invoice with the product model and serial numbers printed on it.
- Match the serial number on the invoice to the unit and to the warranty card.
- Check the manufacturing date on the unit. Very old stock may have less warranty left than you expect.
- If you are unsure about a seller, confirm with UTL’s official customer care.
- Ask where you bring a faulty unit. The answer should be a local address, not only a phone number.
- For subsidy systems, ask for the exact panel model and confirm it is on the ALMM list with domestic cells.
An online listing with a low price and no local contact may still ship a real product. It may also ship old stock with no support behind it. The saving disappears the first time you need a claim.
Panels, subsidy and DCR
The PM Surya Ghar subsidy is not tied to a brand. It depends on three things. The panels must be ALMM-listed and made with domestic cells (DCR). The system must be grid-connected through a DGVCL net meter. And the installer must be a registered vendor on the portal. We stock panels from UTL, Waaree and Adani, and when we quote a system for subsidy, we name the exact model and check its listing before you sign. Our PM Surya Ghar subsidy guide for Bharuch walks through the filing steps. For the regional picture, read our South Gujarat rooftop solar guide.
Prices
We do not publish UTL inverter, PCU or battery prices here. They move with company price lists and schemes, and a printed figure goes out of date quickly. The price depends on the product type, the inverter rating, the battery chemistry and capacity, and whether you want installation. For complete rooftop systems, our calculator uses about ₹50,000 per kWp before subsidy as a quote-level average. For individual products, WhatsApp us for today’s price.

Questions people ask
Do you sell and install UTL solar systems in Bharuch?
Yes. We stock UTL inverters, PCUs and panels alongside Waaree and Adani, and install them across Bharuch district from our shop at Mehfuz Complex, opp. Patel Welfare Hospital. Every quote names the exact model and comes with its datasheet and warranty card.
How do I make sure a UTL product is genuine?
Buy from a shop that gives a GST invoice with the model and serial numbers printed on it, and check that the serial on the invoice matches the one on the unit and on the warranty card. You can also confirm a seller with UTL's official customer care. Be wary of very low online prices with no local contact.
What is the warranty on UTL solar inverters and panels?
Warranty terms are set by UTL and differ by product and model, so we do not quote a single figure here. The warranty card for the exact model comes with every quote we send, along with the datasheet. Read both before you buy. If a unit fails within warranty, bring it to our shop or call us and we help you raise the claim.
Which UTL inverter is best for a village home with power cuts?
Where cuts are frequent and long, a UTL hybrid inverter or a solar PCU with a battery bank suits better than a plain on-grid inverter, which shuts down during a cut. A hybrid keeps net metering and the PM Surya Ghar subsidy. A PCU usually runs without a net meter, so it does not get the subsidy. We help you choose based on how often your feeder trips.
Can I get the PM Surya Ghar subsidy on a UTL solar system?
The subsidy depends on the panels being ALMM-listed with domestic cells, the system being grid-connected with a DGVCL net meter, and the installer being a registered vendor. It is not tied to one brand. When we quote a UTL-based system for subsidy, we name the exact panel model and confirm its ALMM listing before you sign. Shops and factories do not get the central subsidy.
